What an excellent way to put it.

For me, it was &lt;em&gt;Cosmos&lt;/em&gt; that made me a fan of Sagan&#039;s.  It was &lt;em&gt;The Dragons of Eden&lt;/em&gt; that made me a devotee.</description>

		<description>I recall seeing Carl Sagan&#039;s many appearances on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson where he spoke so eloquently to the general public about the wonders of the cosmos.  Ten years later, and his amazing communication skills, his uncanny ability to inspire, are still sorely missed.  When asked how he could justify the incredible expense of sending an interplanetary probe to explore Mars or Saturn, I remember his response: &quot;It&#039;s about the same cost as two or three attack-helicopters.  Wouldn&#039;t you rather spend the money exploring our solar system?&quot;</description>
