i actually went to the bookstore to look for this book. so you are the one who removed it from the plain bookshelf thus i can't find it yes? ;) (just kidding).
4. People who don’t write novels are oddly impressed by people who do.
it is unique and amazing. i mean, given the fact that it took me a while to formulate this sentence and still not get my point across does show the difference in being able to 'communicate in writing. either that, or i just didn't really pay attention in English class~

and depsite the readiness of the interweb that anyone can angst via myspace. i am glad that i can still read something nice via the old-fashioned-hand-held-bound-leaves :D

getting a doodle/concept in the head onto paper is so difficult!

Hah! Your list is a hundred per cent accurate. Except that you left out the bits about champagne and gruel.

You are a generous reader, Claire, far more generous than I. Interestingly, I can forgive most flaws in humans but few, any more, in the books I read. I have no idea what this says about me.

I see the author’s sad wish-fulfilment fantasies so readily now. I see the flaws, the skimmed over middle sections, the wandering pointless sub-plots, the contrived and unreal characters. Undoubtedly, I see these sins because I commit them each and every day.

dude, i haven't even finished my first novel and this is already happening to me. i was reading freakin' MURAKAMI (hard-boiled wonderland) and i totally saw the spot in the middle where he got bogged down and ran out of inspiration when he was drafting it.

interestingly, it made me love the book more.
