until the next cycler comes

My next novel, the sequel to Cycler, will be published on August 25th, 2009. And it shall be called…

(Re)Cycler

No, I’m serious. It really is called that.

Now, because it’s a very looooong time until August–as the snow outside my window makes chillingly clear–I’ve decided to post some of my short stories to tide you over. I’m nice like that.

I’ll keep a link to them in the sidebar over there, on the right.

Enjoy!

    yay! so soon!

and yay on the short stories! the only thing i don’t like about this whole situation is the sunglasses you’re wearing in the picture above. too seventies. i think you should go with a more audrey hepburn look.

  2. Lauren says:

Hmm. Audrey Hepburn. Interesting. I’ve always thought of myself as more of a Katherine than an Audrey. Will take into consideration. I can definitely do the big Tiffany’s up do with the blonde streak as I already have the blonde streak. And you? I’m thinking Rita Hayworth, Rosalind Russell. Someone strong and glamourous, no?

  3. Hi there; random stranger popping up here to say that I just read Cycler and really enjoyed it. You handled the questions about sexuality and identity so gracefully and honestly, and it never felt like an “issue” book. I’m looking forward to the (re)sequel.

    Cheers!

  4. Lauren says:

Welcome, Random Stranger. Glad you liked Cycler. I’m allergic to “issue” books as well and will always avoid writing them (and reading them).

  5. looking forward to the book.!

I’m catching up on your blog entries, and I’m happy to see a publication date for the next one! Plus, August is a whole month closer than it was when you first posted this, and the glorious weather today makes me think summer can’t be that far off.

Is it too late to name the book “Re: Cycler”? :)

  7. Lauren says:

Believe it or not, (Re)Cycler was the joke name I came up with because I couldn’t think of anything else. Oddly, my editor loved it. By the by, I still have your book here in my inbox of things to read. I’m desperately behind. I’ve been doing a lot of research-type reading for my third novel and have had no time for pleasure reading. I miss pleasure reading! How goes it with your novel?

  8. Eugene says:

Things are going well–a lot of positive responses to the ms so far, so fingers crossed! I’m working on my third novel now, too (not part of the series) and am similarly drowning in research. Taking a break from it for some pleasure reading though.
