Everyone is a number in this dystopian near-future where cameras track your every move. Score above 90 and your set for life. Score below 75 and you’re on your own, kid.
Before I became a novelist, I wrote short fiction for a variety of publications. New York City Versus the World is about what happens when the collective unconscious of a city gains sentience and demands secession from its host country. It originally appeared in the wonderful magazine Sybil’s Garage. The Perfect Man concerns the adventures of a chronically single girl who decides to design her own artificial boyfriend. It first appeared in Salon.com and is still available there, however you need a site pass to access it. Sheila follows the mysterious plans of a sentient software program, who has been elevated to a God by her human followers. It originally appeared in Interzone and was then selected for Year’s Best SF 11. Happy reading! |
